Jack Dempseys Food Question

I just picked up 3 baby dempseys from my lfs and acclamated them. They are like 1" long give or take a few cm. I was wondering wat food everyone feeds there dempseys or new worlds in general. what size pellets should i get baby, or mini, and is Hikari any good. right now all i have is http/www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod...amp;N=2004+6130 , will they be okay eating this until i order my pellets or should i go get some from my lfs and pay and extra 5 to 6 dollars

Hikari is what i use also those bottom feeder pellets are also good helps grow quicker.....waterchanges alot helps to grow quciker and healthyer...obviously go for the smaller pellets...peas are also good,desheeled

okay would cichlid pellets hurt platies because they are in the tank with the dempseys until they get moved/ rehomed

and what about frozen foods will they eat bloodworms,

I use Hikari pellets as well, in fact I just ordered 2 lbs of em from foster and smith a couple weeks ago, being that small you could probably get in some Baby Brine Shrimp too. when my male JD was with us he would eat anything I put in the tank, but his main diet was Hikari pellets, cooked cocktail shrimp, Scallops, Silversides, and Krill.

the flake food you have should be fine for them as well, I would order a the smallest pellet for them being only one inch.
