Big big big big problem!!

I was out for 2 days. When I came back, the Jack Dempsy was full of white shinny spots. I freaked out because now Oscar has some on the face. I got rid of the Dempsy (he had something else and had to force feed him).

Today I came in to find my cat fish dead. I checked him befor getting rid of it. It was also full of does spots. His skin semed to want to peel of.

But now, Oscar has plenty of does spots on his fins!!

My snakehead that was linving in a cave is now always at the top of the tank.

Theres defenetly something rong in the tank.

What could does spots be? Can I still save everyone???

I found this link. It is exactly what I found on my fish...

My link

HELP PLEASE!!!

Thanks all!!

well frist if the white spot goes past the gills its pritty bad case. i would turn heater up to about 30c and treat for ich. the only problem is that the fish my not servive the heat change if they are relly ill. so i would say 50/50 but if u dont treat they will die. the reason for for temp change is the cycle of the ich is speeded up
good luck

Your fish definately have ich. You need to treat them asap, especially if they are gasping, as this can kill them in a matter of days. Get some treatment from your pet shop - I'd reccomend Interpret's anti white spot which saved my fish when they got ich - and follow the instructions in the leaflet. A salt bath (20g salt/Litre of water) might help too if you can't get the treatment soon, but it won't kill the parasites which are living in the tank.
Lower the temperature to slow the parasite's life cycle and try to get them treated asap. Good luck!

Thanks, I called my local LFS. They recommended something called ''Nox Ick''. I will go tonight to see what exactly it may be. The cure is for 3 days.

I put the drops in a 3 o'clock pm. Its now 10:20 Pm. The fish seem already better. Maybe only in my head, but I'll see in a couple of days.

Today, My Gar lost part of his back tail. Could this be fish rot, or it's in relation with the Ich?

Hope he will get better fast! Do you think that Nox-Ich will stop his tail masacre?

If it does, what should I do to help the tail grow back?

My Oscar's back fin is pretty mest up too...

thats just not possible, with ick. it does not matter what "concoction" they sell you. you will need to treat, at least, twice. and over the period of a week or more. the higher the temp (tank) within reason the better (82f) .
try a forum search on "ick" or "white spot". for an explanation as to why. or use Goggle "ick/white spot life cycle".

My first 3 days are over. The spots on the Oscars face are gone. But on his side fins, there's still something ab-normal. It does not look like salt grains anymore, but more as a foggy cloud on the fin. There not transparent any more...

And about the Gar, does someone know why he lost half of his tail? Does this have to do with Itch/Ick?

Last thing, my Snakeheads eyes are not foggy. There not bright. There's kind of a ''film'' on the eye.

Could there be something else in the water. Or could the Itch do this??

Thanks!

***I've been reading other posts, and was wondering.

Just befor this breakout, I changed part of my substrat with a 50% water change. Could this have stressed the fish to a point that i'm having these problems?

I just went out and bought Pimafix. I'll be doing a 25% water change since I finished the Nox-Ich cycle. And will proceed with Pimafix***
