I have been trying to take a decent picture of my boesmani since I got them in March. It was worth the wait, they have matured so much, and the colours

Please excuse the streaks, they are bubbles from my filter :*)

Gorgeous fish
I have (sadly only one) mature male with my two Red Rainbows and I've never been able to get a decent pic from him (yet) either.

i love rainbows, sadly my last boesmani passed on last week. i'm sure you probably know but they need spiritula algae (if thats how you spell it) in their diet. algae wafers wont touch the bottom.:hey:

great picture

Gorgeous!!!
I love those fish, I've never had anything over a 10G for a communirt type tank.

Thanks guys.

Jimbooo, I did not know they needed that kind of algae in their diet, but they have been getting it. I feed my oto's and SAE's algae wafers. I have never seen the boesmani eating them, but I am sure they are. I am sorry to hear about your boesmani passing away. They are such lovely fish. Will you be getting some more?

I love my boesmani, I have 3 females and 3 males and I wish I could get more. But they cost so darn much(I paid almost $15 each for babies, ones the size of the ones in my tank are going for almost $30 at my lfs) and my tank isn't big enough to hold any more.

They seem to really love the current from my filter recently. They used to swim all over the tank, but in the last week or so they have been trying to beat the current. I know they only spawn at certain times of the year and I am wondering if they are exhibiting spawning behaviour. The males seem to be staying very brightly coloured as well.
