It Here! Yay!

yeah he is i love rams , may well get a couple of females for new tank .

Hi, Scotty001,
just had to comment on how gorgeous your fish are, and what amazing colouring they have.
But I suppose you knew that...

wow that ram is beautiful

thanks Syphonira & Shelagfishface, the bloe rinbowfish has cnaged colour a little now, he now displays a deep dark blue body and when hes "in the mood" the top of his head goes bright orange,

I love the ram too hes such a charactor one of my first fish and he is great, a little boistorus, he didnt take any C..P from my firemouth and i have had to temp relocate him into the smaller 112 as just got a pair of thorichys sp sacnab's which are related to the firemouth family and tho they are 2x his size and 2 of them, he is showing them who is boss, since hes moved out the are having a little stand off with my male krib & the 2 thorichys sp sacnab's over his half transparent ubend tube that he likes to play ing its a bit funny watching them having this little stand off.

mark it depends what ur putting in the tank.....

anything large....that will create a lot of waste will destroy a sand type substrate...it will be like sand mixed with poo

its better for planted tanks with smaller fish in

your better of with gravel if your going to use anything of any size

hmmmm i will eventually be looking at going down the big cichlid route so maybe gravel would be better after all , tho at present i rekon biggest fish will prob be in the 8 inch area

Tank is sexy mate, That would be better suited to a marine tank :shifty: :shifty:

thanks . i agree it would make 1 awesome an awsome marine tank . and in a few yaers it probably will be turned into a tasty looking coral reef setup. but at present im still quite new to fish keeping ( been doing it since april) so i have nowhere near the level of skills/expertise to go marine . once i have a few years tropicalunder my belt then 1 day i will turn that tank into a marine setup but right now im just not up to the task. plus theres still too many freshwatger fish i want to keep 1st .

yeah im like that its the main reason i went for a big tank. i had a 26 g and every time i went to lfs for livefood etc id see a fish i liked but couldnt have em cos either would grow too big or i was fully stocked. so now i got this tank im gonna be a nightmare :shout:

Sounds more like a dream to me - and can't wait to see!!!!!!

put the black background on today and 25kg of gravel which did slightly less than half the tank. so off to lfs prob on sunday to get another 30 kg or so

Nice tank, its a big un isn't it?

Is it black or dark wood?

What you going to put in it?

Should see my new tank, its up my chin (I'm only 5' 4"), and for me to do anything I have to use a stool.

cheers the size is 4x2x2 the cabinet hood and silicone are all black. stocking will be from old tank 1 red tailed black shark 1 pair kribs 1 pictus catfish to which i plan to add 2 blue acara maybe a T. elioti ( similar to firemouth but much more colourful) and then god knows lol but thats half the fun!! why not post a pic of yours? would be cool to see it

Sounds really nice what you plan on putting in it. I've got Yellow Acaras (Aequidens Metae) in my 4ft tank, they are a lovely fish.

This is my new corner tank, its 190 litres and its for Discus (its got 3 in atm), an Angel, various tetras, Corys and a pair of Bristlenoses.
