I am considering something like this... I don't like the fact that the lights are only on for 6 hours a day. Perhaps something like this would help me enjoy my tank even more.

Yeah same reason i did my tank has 4 54w T5 so have them on for 7hrs which means the tank is so dark. I now have Normal lights 10-5 and moonlight 6-10

Nice tank, can't wait to see it when all the plants (and fish are grown up). I think your LFS gave you mostly female Congo Tetras, which stay quite silvery I'm afraid. I've only seen one (lucky) male in all the pics.

Thanks out of the five in that pic im only cetain 1 is male but i have 12 in total. My LFS are good they are happt to swap fish for me a and when i need dubject to their stock

The camera flash really does dull their colours in a big way

Thanks again Here is the seller i got my lights from NB: i have ever only got 1 thing thing from them but had no trouble and the lights were for good compared to the junk out there. However you pays your moneys you takes your chances it ebay

No more nails / silicone would do it i guess.

Congos are great fish, I have 7 and they've livened up my tank and other fish. Great dithers with a nice amount of colour.

I just used fish friendly silicone and put it right next to one of the T5 so you cant see anything

No mate is has not effected mine, i have 4 tanks and they are all between approx 6.8 and this is the only tank with lava rock in

BBA the green on the wood, what type of algae is this ? I have some on mine and was wondering if i need to combat this ?

The pic with apisto on is just a plant leafs that i never cleaned as the fry always snack on it, is that the one you mean?
