So based on what I can earn and all the other things going on this summer, I've finally come up with something sensible.

Juwel Rio 180
Fluval E Series Heater 200w
TetraTec External Filter

Will be heavily planted with lots of hiding spaces.

I asked if the Juwel Rio 180 was big enough for angelfish and Tolak replied saying it was okay but I forgot to ask about numbers.

So is this okay?

- 4-6 Angelfish
- 3 Rams
- 4 Bettas F (Will be removed if they don't get along)
- 9 Sterbai Corydoras
- 1 BN Pleco
- 6 Cardinals/Harlequin/Cherry Barbs
- 15 Tight Schoolers (Any ideas?)

Thanks everyone. :)

What rams?

Also, if you're planning on the TT1200 filter, it won't fit inside the cabinet.

And just have 20 Rummynoses and scrap the the cardinals.

Probably German Blue Rams.

Yeah I'm not too bothered about it not going in the cabinet, I will put it beside it by a wall so almost hidden. :good:

Are Rummynoses tight schoolers?

Rummynoses and Penguin Tetras are probably the best schoolers there is.

You will need a high temperature and very soft acidic water to keep rams. The BN won't take to kindly to 28-30c and I think the Betta's will suffer too. Its also at the very top of the range for Angels.

Bolivian Rams would go better with Angels wouldn't they? Might be an option?

Ah I see, thank you for letting me know. :)

Are there any other good schoolers? Ones with more of a colour like full body red or blue?

Okay temperature noted, I will make adjustments for stocking. I must ask though, a lot of places I look online tell me Bettas are kept at 25c - 30c but it is acceptable to be kept at room temperature. What is the real temperature for them?

Okay no worries, thanks for the information! ^_^

Red phantom tetra's? No idea if the school tightly though?

Not unless something puts the fear of God up em.Loose is the word i'd use
Emperor tetras look good in decent numbers.GBR temp might be too much for them.

6 angels in a 180 might be a bit tight. Is it four foot?

Rio 180 are 3'.

edit:even without the Angels, isn't that getting pretty busy.Or is that just me?

I've got 6 in mine, but they're only juveniles and once (if) I get a pair the others will be removed.

So red phantoms and a pirhanna :D

I think after reading all that I will buy 6 Angelfish at small and when they grow up and if 2 pair together, get rid of 2. (return to LFS). Quite happy with 4. I think I'll just get a school of anything available that's nice. But I will look for the emperor tetras. :) Thanks for all the input. Much appreciated.
