Is This Ok

i have noitced our fighter tends to swim up around where the water goes into the juwel filter. he sometimes stays there and his fins were geting sucked inside, he can swim away when he wants but his fins are starting to get a bit damaged. i have just put one of the white filter pads over the opening and pushed the mag float cleaner up to keep it in place. is this ok to do or not. was hopeing he might use the magfloat to rest on two.

Looks ok 2 me but it will stop your mechanical filtration as the media is layered, i used a pair of tights on my filter intake and that did the trick, but the holes were just big enough to let the smaller particles of crap to go in

No, it just means that the floss on the outside is the mechanical filtration.

I use tights on my filter in my guppy tank to stop the babies being sucked in. Just remember to rinse the tights.

thanks for the replys folks. not sure if ill be able to get tights over the juwel filter box but ill give it a go tomorrow
