Is It normal for a catfish to stay in one spot at the bottom of the tank? He still swims around but mostly stays in that one spot. It could be that he's the only catfish in the tank, but he does have a Betta friend. He's still eating and stuff, and he and the Betta get along.

what type of cat? i have corys that will sit for ages in one spot

yeah, some cories tend to stay in one spot for a while until they move again. How big is the tank? Is he the only cory? Cories need to be in groups of AT LEAST 3 minimum if your tank can't take 6. If it's big enough, you can have a school of 6 cories.

1 and a half gallons. Sadly he is the only one. I've been looking in to getting more and moving to bigger tank. I will ask my mom, she works at Petsmart.

Tank is far to small for any corys and they need company - cruel to keep it in such a small tank - sorry if i offend....

No not at all I understand. I will try to see if I can get a bigger tank and at least two more catfish. :)
