Is this fish a predator

Hi im new to the hobby and i got a fish and i cant seem to identify him he has blue stripes around eyes and red and blue spekles on his body his main color is green and had black vertical bars he also has 2 teeth on his mouth and is about 6in and i thinks is a sa cichlid.

I can't identify your fish but my rule of thumb is that if a fish has teeth, it's guaranteed to be a predator :cool:
 
could be a Parachromis dovii which is a predator!
 
Not an expert but isn't this a C.salvini ?

This is for sure Trichromis salvini. Those are beautiful but pretty mean fish. Not 100% sure but looks very much like a male.

It is a salvini I have two males my are laid back with other fish but hate each other like to dig too so keep that in mind if your tank is planted

Great looking fish..that declare war on all others. If you have Red Devils and or C. festae..THOSE kind of fish...thats there level.
