Hey jonesy, thank u 4 ur useful info, my tank is 80liters my stats r nitrite 10
nitrate 0 i dont have a test 4 ammonia yet im hoping it will arrive 2 day, no room in tank 4 more fish over stoked as it is, will have 2 check the sexes & keep my eye on them!
My shark is ace, we keep a close eye on him but noyhing 2 report he is just a tank hoover!!!
Also my tetras dont seem 2 b that bothered by any1 they have half the tank each (seperated by my bog wood) & just stay in their own bits, they dont defend their territory from the other fish, just each other!!
Talkin bout nippy guppies i had 2 take 1 of my black platys out & put her in a breeding net as 1 of my guppies kept attacking her, really didnt know they cud b that aggressive, it was horrid!!!

Sorry if you said your tank is cycling, but is it CYCLED.

If your tank has a nitrite reading then it is still cycling at the moment. This is not good for the fish you currently have in your tank. You really need to get your ammonia reading as well as I would guess that it's probably above 1ppm also. There's an article link in my sig. for what cycling is all about. Until your tank is cycled with your current fish stock and you are getting readings of 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite and no more than 50ppm nitrate then your tank is not done cycling. So do not add any more fish until then.

What is your current stock?

2 Odessa Barbs
2 Serpae Tetras
2 Platies

No my tank is still cycling, did everything wrong at the begining & paying 4it now, didnt have much of a clue but learning fast!!!!

1 5lined/tiger barb?
3 guppies
2 sunset platy
2 black platy
& 11 assorted platy or mollies?? Offered them right at begining new tank & took them, stupid i know, so well overstocked & not lookin 2 ever add any more fish!!!!!
have been doin 40% water changes daily but have decided with advice 2 change that 2 25% twice per day, my test kit didnt come 2day fingers crossed 4tm!!!!!!
