Is This Dangerous?

I have a series of criscrossing long white stringy looking stuff growing on one live rock in my year old tank. It's not "tenticles" of worms - i know what those are, and have a few in a different place in the tank. This looks like white sewing thread, all one length and seems to be growing on only one of my rocks. I've thought about just taking that rock out and scrubbing it and letting it dry. No stings...no reaction from my zenia or fish. However, it did appear just after I added a piece of zenia to the tank.

i had similar white stringy stuff in my tank once, when i pulled it i uprooted a plant from the other side of the tank, its roots had gone traveling
