My tank is fairly new and i was wondering whether this stuff would dramatically increase the bacteria in my tank or is it just a load of rubbish?

Could be worth a shot.

I've never used it myself but i know people who have and they have had some success.

ive used it but i didnt really notice a difference between using it and not using it lol.

To be honest i've used it and its not that good.

Guilty secret here, i used something similar to cycle my second tank, first one bust, so fish lives depended on it.. id kept the old filter wet in tank water, lol never thought about water flow, then. i filled my tank put the old filter in, not knowing the bacteria was dead. seeded the new cannister filter and set it off. fish went right in and just carried on as normal. to this day, about 9 months, i have lost only two fish, 1 of the original crew and one added 6 months after my tail. now i did have a fair amount say 2" deep in a 12x8x12 inch tank of the original gravel.. i also poured all the green crap from the bottom of the bust tank. into the rescue tank. now im told there is no significant bacteria in the tank its self. if that's the case this stuff really works!!
