Got a new fish and was wondering what this may be.

It might be the water qualities from the fish store. do you have fish shop water parameters?

can't really tell from the pictures but it looks like a bit of filter floss is stuck on the fish's mouth.

a few more pictures with less camera flash might show more detail.

I removed her and was able to take off whatever it was. It felt to be string/felt like in texture. Will be keeping a close eye on her. Thanks for the advice. Pic is now with fiber removed.

If it came off, then it would have been a bit of filter floss from the shop.
