Is This Algae?

Just want to know what these little leaves are and if it needs to be removed or not.

My other tank I've had for years has never had this problem so am a bit cofused.

Duckweed or dwarf baby tears looks like. No harm it will most likely grow like crazy.

Yep, +1 That's Duckweed. You will need to remove it on a regular basis, as it grows so fast it will completely cover the water surface very quickly. Totally harmless little plant though.
