is there a test to see how much you know about fish .. would be interested cause recently was employed and i am not wanting to be caught out :D??

I am not sure what kind of test you are looking for, I really don't understand the question.

The only answer I can think of giving you is that I imagine that when you take a class in ichthyology that most of the exams are going to be about fish. And then you'd get a grade at the end of the class, but again, I'm not sure what want to do with that???

edited for spelling

The very best answer so as to not "get caught out" is to be honest.
Saying "I'm sorry I don't know, but I'll go and find out" is way better than saying "oh I think xyz might be about right".
And as you spend longer in that employment you will come to learn more and more product knowledge.

When I first started working in DIY/Home Improvement/Hardware I didn't have too much product knowledge. 3 Years later I could answer most customer questions, knew loads about most products and was able to advise people on which products to buy, why and how to use them.

not so long ago on practical fishkeeping magazine/website they were giving you the chance to enter for this paper (all by post) where you had to answer questions like an exam and at the end of it you get like a degree or certificate for passing or something...i forget the details. I'm not sure how respectable the certificate would be though, i.e. nationally recognised as a qualification etc.
