I do daily water changes with my betta tank, one more isn't going to be too much! Bless him.

I've put a little filter in that had been in my betta tank so it should be fine How long will he need the salt baths for and how often?

I would try and do a salt bath twice aday for a week to strart off with.

Oh that is horrendous ! I really hope he gets better. That last pic you posted today looks like a slight improvement. Fingers & toes crossed.

The wound does look a bit cleaner now.. Though that may just be because all that fungus was making it look even worse!

If he does recover (fingers crossed) is it likely that he will ever be able to return to the pond?? I was thinking that, if the scales he's lost never grow back (do they? ) it may not be a good idea to put him back out in the pond? Will he be more prone to illness?

There scales should grow back if the tissue dosn't get to damage, good luck, keep us all up dated as we will worry about him.

How's the goldfish doing.

No better... But no worse. The fungus and wound dont seem to be getting any bigger which i guess is good! He's eating and swimming quite happily too! he's certainly a little fighter

He's open to infection with the open wound it has to be kept clean, have you done any salt baths since.

I think he's going to die soon

He was fine earlier, had his bloodworms for breakfast and ate them really well! He's been swimming around as usual all day, but i went out this afternoon for a couple of hours and when i came back he was just led on his side at the bottom of the tank. I thought he'd died and tried to net him out and he started swimming again, but he's swimming leaning sideways with his tail low, he's almost vertical!! He looks very sick

He sounds it bless him, it's down to you, i don't think to be honest he will make it, with him being a goldfish they are tough, i thought he stood a chance more over other fish, bless him.

So... What should i do? Just wait and see if he lives or dies??
