Is There Any Fish That Can Be Kept In This Ph?

you got a vat of vinegar or something you don't want to go to waste?

wild discus live in around 4.5-5.... i suspect some of the other fish from that part of the world, apistogramma and so on would be fine in it.

whats important is that the species of bacteria we cultivate in our filters do not live at this level of pH, there is a theory that it is a different species which develops to perform the same function at a pH this low range, this other species grow significantly slower which means to set up a tank with a pH that low cloning a filter wouldn't work, and a fishless cycle would take about 3 years

why?

the reason i ask as my ph without doing anything to it is ph4 , tahts why i have to buffer all ma tanks .

so i just wondered thats all lol

Tap water is pH 4, WOW! thats low mine is arround 7-7.5 (Yorkshire Water)

Add some crushed coral gravel in a filter bag to your filter, that should bring it up to at least neutral, probably higher. You can also experiment with some baking soda to see how much you need to raise it as well.

How in the world do you drink the water with a pH that low? Even though discus prefer acidic water, I'm not sure you could even keep them with a pH that low. Is that well water?

no lol is the water from the tap. the local water board put no buffer in the tap water so it immedietly just crashes, so as u can imagine there are a lot of problems with people fishkeeping here who arent aware of this as the fish shops never tell anybody about this.
