Is One T8 30W Bulb Enough For A 4Ft?

Im getting paranoid...I have a 4t 200ltr tank, with only vallis planted and a couple java fern, i run a 30w osram daylight t8 tube only...is this enough?

How are the plants doing (especially the vallis)? 30w is very low lighting, but the java fern should be ok

thanks for the reply, well the vallis seem to be going brown / melting and random shoots are floating every day

When did you add the vallis? as newly added plants can sometimes "melt" but come back fine

It's posible it could be melting. Do you use a fertiliser?

nope, I did use some liquid food but that ran out a while ago

Vallis can't tolerate a low ph (under 6.8-7) and might die because of that. What is your ph?

mostly above 7 mate normally 7.2 sometimes a little more

It's most likely it's just not enough light. Best to stick to plants that prefer lower light (anubias, mosses, ferns and maybe amazon sword )
