My 25l aquael bowl

has a heater, light and filter, but nothing that makes bubbles (I presume these are to aerate the water?) Do I need to have a bubble maker? :)

As long as you have the filter and it is providing plenty of water surface movement, then you don't need an airstone. :good:

Interesting, at 25L/6.6USG that thing must be bigger than it looks. A biorb competitor! You could have a nice little school of 6 neon tetras in there with some plants. With an orb shape you have less surface area to provide oxygen for fish stock, so the 1" of mature fish body per US gallon would be pushing it but should be ok if you do a good fishless cycle, keep your media clean and are frequent with your water changes I guess.

i like that tank it looks dead smart better than the biorb looks, would like something like that on my Desk with shrimps or beta in. they expensive?

This was the cheapest place I found them, but I'm impatient, so paid a bit more from my LFS.
Aesthetically, I really like it. Just remains to be seen how it performs-I did find a few good reviews during my search. I think knowing its limits will be the key.
There's also a 45l version and a horribly unstable looking stand available.
I'm getting some filter media from a local forum member hopefully tomorrow, and some ammonia and the test kits so I can run the fishless cycle and so get the tank working as well as possible :)

Well that's great. Are you experienced with doing fishless cycles? The members here enjoy following along when someone does one.

No, I've never done one before. Not a lot to see atm though. When something starts happening, I'll post :)

Looks really smart but quite expensive for a small tank, good luck with the cycle, you could set up a journal for your cycle and stocking, would be interesting to follow.

Yeah, I know! I keep seeing tanks of larger capacity for cheaper, but I really like the way it looks, and I had a picky husband to convince-lol!
