Is My Zebra Danio About To Lay Eggs?

Ok...so my brother gave me his aquarium because he was moving. When he gave it to me it had 4 zebra danio and a pleco. The aquarium was disgusting so I cleaned it not knowing I wasn't supposed to remove all of the water . Three of the danio died and one lived. The pleco is still alive as well. The one that survived is very fat in the belly area leaving me to believe that it is female and full of eggs. I'm not sure though. Compared to the other ones that were in the aquarium, she is very fat. I tried to take a picture but couldn't get one. What say ye?


Also, what do I do if she IS pregnant. This is my first aquarium.

Danios are egg layers and so need males present to fertilise eggs when they're released. It may be you have a female that is 'eggy' at the moment.
Eventually she will either release the eggs or re-absorb them. Either ways as there is no male to fertilise them then there is no possibility of fry.
So just leave her be.

However if your done re cycling then I'm sure the fish would really appreciate some more of it's own kind.
I personally would add another 4/5 zebra danios.

I forgot to add that I added 2 giant danios today. Is that ok or should I have gotten more like her?

If they're shoaling together then that's ok.

Ok...I finally was able to take a picture of her. Here it is.

Wow, he/she is VERY big. If it's a she then she is very pregnant.

However just to be on the safeside. Stick the picture in the 'tropical fish emergencies' section.
And get a second opinion.
Hopefully the guys over there will say it's just full of eggs. But being so big I'm a little bit suspicous.
