Basically I'm thinking of upgrading my Aqua One UFO 550 which is just under 100 liters to a Aqua One 700 which is around 175 liters. I managed to find a cheap 700 on eBay which I've just brought home. Both are corner tanks and I'm just wandering whether floorboards, as a generality, could support this added weight. I've read an article/blog thing from someone who, as both a builder and fish keeper, says that anything up to 55 gallons is no problem at all, then 55-125g should be alright as long as it's placed correctly.

Obviously the tank falls under this 55 gallon limit as such, I'm just thinking that as the corner tanks are generally taller than they are longer, and spreading less weight out across the floor joists would this be problematic? The tanks going to be in a corner where one side is the original outside wall of the house (before an extension was built) and the other a separating wall to the bathroom.

Obviously I know houses are usually not the same in different areas but if anyone has any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Should be fine. There should be two joist running under it. If you can access the crawl space, you can double check.
