I was wondering if my platy is pregnant and if so how far along is she ?how do I care for fry? etc.

Chances are good that your platy is carrying some fry if she has been with a male in the last 6 months or so. We could tell a lot more if you supplied a picture.

i would get a seperate tank for your fry if you dont want them to get eaten. I have a seperate 10 gal for my fry. I feed them crushed up fish flakes and they are growing strong.

I know that there is 1 male in the tank and the rest are female. and this is the one i see always next to the male so i thought i might see if she is pregnant or something. and sorry for bad quality.

Hi there, she certainly looks pregnant. can't see on the photo, does she have a gravid spot ( should be quite dark on a fish that colour) She is a very beautiful twin bar, I would love to see those fry!
I'd say another week.maybe more can't tell very well. I'll have a look at the pic again

this is a pic of my twinbar platy the day before she had her fry

it would actually help if you posted more pics so we could tell you
and i cant tell as its a pretty blurry pic but she looks pregnant to me

I am not sure if it would really help, but I have a thread on this forum that you can reach using a link in my signature area. I took pictures of a molly female every few days from one drop to her next. Along the way, I left notes of what I was looking at during that stage and tried to give hints on what to look for at each stage. the link in my signature area is called My molly's progress. It may help you judge your own fish's progress since the molly that I used for my pictures was one where the color of a gravid spot was totally non-existent. That means that I had to give hints about what I look for in the shape of my females. It works well for non-poeciliid fish which almost never show a "gravid spot" but often go through the same kind of shape changes.
