Hi, I just bought a male Siamese fighter but one I got him home I noticed black on the edges of his tail It looks like his tail may have been previously nipped. I'll attach some photos can someone help me? Do I need to return him?

I certainly wouldn't return him, that'd just make him more stressed.

He doesn't look in too bad nic, some stress stripes from the journey, and a chunk out of the tail. The black edging might be fin rot, so do some 25% w/cs each day and keep the water pristine and his fins should grow back in no time. :good:

It doesn't look too bad to me either. He probably has the best chance to get well if you let him stay with you, given you keep his water pristine.

He is very pretty with his metallic turquoise colouring! :good:

he is very pretty i love his coloring i had a female that coloring but she died the next day -.-
he looks fine to me, the black edging like mentioned above might be fin rot, some of my tropicals had the same thing but with water changes and good water quality they were fine

Love his colouring.
As others have said, keep his water pristine & you may not have to medicate

He looks much better already I did a 25% water change today but I've noticed he's being a lot more active today and the black area doesn't look as bad today either. He is lovely hes a great mix of blue green and black.

thats great news :) you'll be surprised how quick it will heal with small water changes daily.
