I've seen alot of people on here asking if their tanks are overstocked, So, I thought I would throw mine out as well.

9 Brilliant Rasbora
4 Kuhli Loach
6 Pineapple Swordtail
1 Painted Swordtail
2 Red Wag Platy
1 Sunset Platy
1 Golden Rainbow Shark
1 Spotted Pictus
1 Fancy Guppy ( possibly getting more )

Any and all opinions are welcome!

Only thing I'd be worried about is the pictus who really needs 75 gallons to swim in. Also the kuhlis need a larger group.
After you do something with the pictures you could add kuhlis and guppies. Other than that I'd say it is very close t being overstocked.

The pictus is currently only 2 inches, And they only grow to be 5 inches. Eventually I will be upgrading to a 125g.

THey grow to 8 inch actually but if you're upgrading soon it should be ok.

I agree with TallTree. I've also found the pictus can be aggressive if it doesn't have enough room. It might get into it with the loaches without expansion. The loaches grow pretty quick so that day might come sooner than you hope.

everyone always says im gonna upgrade when they get bigger....
oh how i wish people would stock their  tanks with full size growth in mind...
were all guilty of saying ...ill get bigger if need be...but then so many  fish are kept in cramped tiny overstocked tanks.
Fish need to stretch their fins

If you got too ask yourself am I overstocked? you are prolly overstocked.
website i find good to check stocking http://www.aqadvisor.com/
buy bigger or dont get fish that require longer deeper wider tanks. or overstock your tank
Most people dont have room in house for the MONSTER tanks 6' and up that so many fish require.

The mods don't like to when you use that link.
I agree that people shouldn't buy in advance.

But the difference is, I truly am going bigger. I've talked to a person who is rehoming the fish they have then i am buying the 125g for 200$.

I do hope that everything goes as planned for larger tank.
Usually from past experiences something always changes best laid out plans.

a 125gal tank is a very nice sized tank and i wish ya luck once aquired.

Personally I feel you should stock for the tank you have and then when you do upgrade add what fits in that. The reason is simple, sometimes our best laid plans fall through for various reasons. Money of course being one of them...

Besides the shark and pictus, your tank and stocking seems fine to me. I'd add a few more khulis and rehome the pictus and the shark, just because they might not do well with the peaceful species you have.

When you get a bigger tank and set it up, then you can possibly setup a more aggressive type of tank. The problem with getting a large tank is that people forget they need good filtration, possibly at least 2 large filters and that will cost you way more than the price you'd pay for the tank. Add to that substrate and other decor, heaters, etc..and it will cost you enough.
And don't forget that if you are to keep up with water changes on a large tank, bucket method won't work as you'll just keep skipping water changes.
