My wife and I have different opinions on this, is it safe to use non aquatic plastic plants.
We have seen foliage at Micheal's, at a fraction of the price of fish store prices
Is it safe, I fear it may leach some sort of chemical. Any advice
Thanks
Colin

Plastic plants are generally safe, provided they don't have any metal components. Plastic is inert, the metal could corrode and affect your fish.

If you're really worried steralise them first. Get some of the liquid or tablet steraliser used for baby's bottles and dummies from your local supermarket, 'cause you can't boil them, they might melt! :)

Of course live plants are much better than plastic anyway!

On a nother forum I have looked at some tanks and found some tanks with plastic plants that are not ment for water.
