Recently my betta has stopped bubblenesting(eversince i started to use a filter)
Well not completely
ive seen him try from time to time only to see the current destroy the bubbles and he gets REALLY lethargic when his nest is destroyed...
by hte ay the filter is an elite stingray fitler for 5 gallons..
i may be moving him to a 3.3 gallon in which case i might ask if any tankmates would work, and umm
main question is should i be worried if his nests keep getting destroyed by hte current(which i deflect off the tank wall )

if the water flow is destroying his bubles then you might want to add afew more plants that will help breakup the current. as for tankmates in a 3 gallon im not so sure theres anything that wont overstock the tank except possibly shrimp or a snail. keep in mind some bettas like to eat the shrimp that get put in with them. you could try afew ottos or cory cats in a 5 gallon

Yeah I'd try putting something in his tank.. as was suggested, maybe a few plants, to try to block the current a bit so he could make a bubblenest.
AS for tankmates in a 3 gallon.. I wouldn't put anything else in there with him. The tank will be just big enough for him and a few decor.. and a small filter with a heater if that's what you plan to put in with him.. and that's it.

i had just typed about redirecting your flow at the tank wall but just noticed that you wrote that in brackets

like others have said put something in the current to slow it down. have you tried putting a bit of betta spa in the tank this makes the bubbles stickier, i dont think you would have much space for tank mates if you are putting plants in. you could try a floating half a polystyrene cup for him to build his nests in.

I agree with Dan. You can check out Bettatalk.com. This Betta guru will show you how to cut and attach the foam cup. I did it and my males happily blow bubbles day in and day out.

funny thing is the 5.5 gal(glass is $17) and the 3.3 gal(plastic) is $16, problem with my parents, im giving the minnow away to my cousins 10 gal since htey have room for stocking, ours has enough stocking atm(i could wait one week and place hte minnow in the 30 gal thats goign to be purchased shortly) and the 10 gal ill divide(in 2, 1 betta each side male one side female other side, and possibly a tank mate of somesort on both sides)
yep yep
