im guessing there isn't but other than that how do you tell if they are ready to breed?

Not any strict reasoning behind it but if i had to hazard a guess i would say they appear a bit on the young side, the younger ones always seem to have a certain look about them.

How big are they? They should be able to breed at 3", though there are probably some other signs of mating season.

they are coming up to 3" ...but there's no bubble nests thank god

The males may start fighting once you plump up a female with a ton of worms. You don't want any babies??

ive only got 1 male and 3 females, dont get me wrong id like them to breed but dont have the space for them. they get a mix of daphinia and blood worm every day... can hand feed all four of them whcih is quite amusing :p

Well I'm not too sure if the male would be able to build the nest if the water at the surface is too rough/chaotic.
