Is it PH or GH that affects the offspring ratio?

Can anyone tell me whether it is the PH or the GH that affects the percentage of males or females within a brood of kribs?
At present I have a very good success rate of females using my tap water supply. The trouble is I could do with the males as breeding stock as I want to keep the characteristics the male has (Good colour and eye spots in the caudal fin).
Good females are easier to find than the males. Probably the same reason as me being over run with them.
Any solutions?

This theory is proven to work with some species, and not at all with others, but if you want to give it a shot, the idea you're thinking of is that lower ph and higher temperatures tend to yield more males.
