Is it ok to..

Never thought about it. I wouldn't. When ever I leave iout water for a while dust gets on it, especially if there isn't something IN the water to stir the watetr up...

I'd still say no. Dust is very sneeky. You can just use tap water. Thats what I do. I add tap water, then dechlorinate it while its in the tank. Never had any problems with it.

Dechlorinator removes more than just chlorine, there are a whole load of other chemicals/toxins present in tap water that it removes. As long as you use dechlorinator and the water is not too cold when you add it to the tank i don't see what else is wrong with old water.

Wait...I'm confuzzeled.

Yes, I'm sure. Thats what I've always done, and Its never killed, hurt, or upset anything in my tanks.

btw, i stored 40G of water, i have to do a big water change, my tank has some kind of deseise and i want to take out as many of the bacteria or whatever out as posslbe

i always store mine for a day or two to get all the chlorine out so i dont see why it wouldent hurt

but this is not a day or 2...it's 7 DAYS

ya but i mean what could go wrong with it? im sure dust wont hurt cause think of it dust would get in your aquarium so i cant see any reason not to

^
Not really. Dust settles on the water in good ammounts if nothing is in the water moving it around. A current almost.

I have read before that water left out for 24 or more hours will lose the chlorine automatically, not sure how true it is. I think its best to have it sit for a period of time to adjust the temp better, but 7 days might be to long. I really think you would be fine either way.
