i was wondering if the filter you get with the rekord 60 from jewel aquariums
is any good or is it a load of #@%*^!

It's absolutely sufficient and very good for most set-ups. It might struggle with a heavily stocked / planted tank.

i recently replaced mine because its in a planted tank and i couldn't stop it making surface disruption, and it's in my bedroom and it trickles all night. i've got a fluval 2+ now and its much better.

yea my turtles filter makes alot of noise so i moved it to the spare room

That's odd indeed. They are quite ideal for planted tanks and almost better than Fluval 2+ like for like. All you needed to do was direct the outlet downwards to the back.

I find Fluvals 2+ clogs up far too often (even with full weekly maintenance) and just dump a whole lot of rubbish in the tank (due to suction) as you remove it from the tank.

I'm very happy with my Rekord 60, does fine for light/moderate community stocking (and I wouldn't stock anything else in a 60 ltr tank. The sound (sadly) is quite incapable of drowning out my husband's snoring Can anyone recommend a filter with better sound effects?
