Is it a boy?

Super red calico bristle nose pleco. Got this fish when it was 3/4 inch long. Now it is finally almost 2 3/4 inch long! This fish doesn't like me near the tank so this measurement and these pics are from today! I have been noticing bristles appearing but I'm still curious as to whether it's a boy or not.

It looks female right now, but I'd keep an eye on it just in case it's a late bloomer.

Thanks! I'll keep an eye on it. I had a regular brown bristlenose a long time ago that was female and never had any bristles. I know females can get them a little bit but I was curious. I don't think the pictures do it justice though....I think they seem a bit bigger in person. Lol. But with a skittish fish I was surprised I was able to measure it against the glass and get these two pics!
