Is Freeze Died Tubifex Better Than Freeze Dried Bloodworm?

I have freeze dried bloodworm but I heard that's bad for my fish and not very beneficial. I soak it first before giving it but I heard it doesn't give many nutrients to my fish anyway. I only give a pinch once a week and they love it.

Is the freeze dried Tubifex any better for them?

I am not an expert by any means, but I have heard that bloodworms are beneficial. I have never heard that they are better than tubifex, though. I also feed my fish bloodworms(freeze dried) and they seem to like them.

neither are beneficial - - you lose everything good once you have the words "freeze dried"!


frozen bloodworms are the way to go!

avoid freeze dried at all costs - - it is just a waste of your money

Freeze drying removes the water and oxygen, the nutrients stay behind(especially protein). The only case where this may not be true is when high heat is used in the process.High heat will kill nutrients. I personally don't trust frozen or live fish foods though because of the risk of contamination. If you decide to go with live or frozen, make sure it's from a reputable source.
