Is Florite Substance To Rough?

I am thinking about using Florite in my next tank and also plan to have bottom feeders but am not sure if its to rough? Anyone have bad experiences with it and bottom feeders?

I bought some thinking I might use it in a planted tank but I keep cories so it is still sitting in the bag it came in. A bed of nails would be softer for a bottom feeder.
