Ok so i was looking for some more plants for the tank and was looking at lighting requirements and couldnt work out what would grow in my tank so i went rooting round for anubias nana on the same site (plants alive) and it says its a red plant, now unless im very colour blind my anubias nana is green and always has been, any info on this?

as far as i know its a green to dark green plant with waxy leaves, i have never every seen a red one labeled up with the same name

it will go red with intense lighting, because ive tried it, but it will normally stay green

How much lighting is intense? Im guessing even when i swap over to the T5 lighting that probably wont be enough will it? (ive got masses of the stuff as my center piece so if it turned red that would be really cool lol - i can dream)

I think plants alive have their descriptions mixed up.

Anubias nana:
A stunning true red plant, which unfortunately requires very high lighting, good CO2 infusion and good substrate nutrition. Not the easiest of plants but well prized by those who are successful.

It's a very easy plant which can thrive (though grow slowly) under the lowest of lighting.

I've never seen, or heard of it turning red at all. Sure your not thinking of another plant truck? ;) Got pics?

that extract is funny becuase anubias dont need goo substrate nutrition becuase the go on rock or wood etc. they dont need a substrate at all tbh.
