In LFS I saw today, he was bootiful... but £24?!

He was buttermilk colouring (yellow?) with flashes of black in his fins and a very grand spread

I wouldnt even pay that for a HM in an LFS and havent ever paid more than about £8 for any of my bettas

I figured, I shall abstain and not line their stupid pockets, at least he wasn't in a jar so I'm not feeling bad about not buying him!

If I converted correctly, that's about 32.25 in USD. Yes, that's way too much. Maybe if there was something special or unique about him, had a really pure line, or something..but still it would have to be a really special SD to be worth that much.

Wow thats a hell of alot for an SD, i would let it pass you could get a couple of nice HM for that price

Was it made of gold??
No, it's a rare betta that's worth that amount, especially from an LFS!
Only one with top notch bloodlines that are traceable should fetch that.
P.

Is it EVER acceptable to charge £24 for a betta?
I might have got it wrong - might not be an SD, but are there any tails that would/could/should fetch £24 so I know when I go back to look again later lol

Unless the fish has absolutely stunning colours, i'd never pay £24 for a betta.

I will do if it's there, but I'm not going to pay that for it, I know it's ridiculous

yes it is OTT i would pay round £10 at most for a nice one, though i did get tempted to pay £20 for a solid black HM
