Inventive places to shove more tanks!!

The weight of all those tanks in the flat in sweden can't be doing much good to the floor can it? Only a few nights ago moved a 45us gallon tank down 2 flights of stairs because I was terrified of it's weight on the carpet and the floor below!

One of my friends had an obscene amount of tanks upstairs...he had all his 'living rooms' downstairs (living room, lounge, kitchen, bedrooms, etc) and then the entire of the upstairs was tanks. He had over 50 LARGE tanks and then possibly hundreds of breeding, raising, isolation, medication, etc tanks. One day he came home to find his floor had collapsed. His house was ruined and most of his fish died (some survived - around 60% we worked out...amazing. He heard a bang as he was coming down his road and wondered what it was...lol...so they weren't out of water long...it was mainly the shock of falling and then the tanks breaking and then having to be rehomed. He had to knock his house down and start again. Now he has tanks downstiars and living spaces upstairs! (Personally...I think he needs to consider my idea of the shed - see above!!) His upstairs floors have been reinforced now too, as he still insists on having at least one tank in EVERY room, upstairs too!!

LOL, some good ideas there folks- though think I need to stop short of totally rearranging my upstairs- i.e. moving it downstairs with the little known, 'fish tank' method!!

I HAVE A CLOSET! I could take the door off and put tanks in there!! Now all I need to do is have a MASSIVE clear out! BRILLIANT IDEA!!

And those photos WOW, that's AMAZING!

You could get a few of those swivel TV stands that screw into the wall, that pubs use.

Jules - that's a great idea...do you think they'd be strong enough??? Only thing is you would have to have them at a decent height for easy access for maintenance...would make syphoning easier if it was high though!!

I would have thought so, a 32" widescreen weighs a TON! Best make sure it's put up on a structural wall not a partition though (knock it, and if you can hear it or it sounds hollow, stay away).

I never even considered those wall TV stands! Tha is an awsome idea! You would need to check weight allowance, though TVs are pretty heavy, so they will probably be strong enough. And fix some way to make sure it doesn't swivle when you have everything already set up. Don't want the tank swinging around! :fun:

This is about the only way I can fit more tanks in here. I have so much unused space up near the ceiling...wow, what an idea! I wonder how much those things csot and where one can buy 5 or 6 of them. :hyper:

My hubby won't let me put any tanks in the bedroom. I only barely have enough room in the kitchen to fix dinner, with the tanks on the counters in there. (I usually prepare dinner on the deep freeze, since I can't have tanks there because the door opens up the top. Don't think I didn't consider it, though..."just something small I could move when I needed to get into the freezer...")

I have 2 ponds on the deck out back. There is room for more, but I have been concetrating on getting indoor tanks. Plus, I wiull have to bring those animals inside in a couple of months. Next summer I will see about getting more outside tanks. I have 8 tanks in the kitchen and no more room. 3 tanks on my computer desk and no more room...actually, now that I look, a 2.5 gallon would fit in front of my new LCD monitor...hmm, better not even go there, hubby would not approve. 5 tanks along one living room wall, 4 along the other, and 1 beautiful brand new 125g along the wall by the front door. I got a tank in my daughter's room by telling her it is "hers" (yeah, right) And I do still have a betta in the bedroom, because the hubby said it was the sound of filters and pumps while he was trying to sleep that annoyed him.
