I heve recently tried to introduce a Geophagus Steindachneri (Red Hump Eartheater) to my tank and came across a problem, The Blue Acara took an instant disliking to the new addition an constantly pestered it to a point where it had to be removed. All of the current fish get along fine and there is no aggresion towards territory. Belive it or not the Acara and the Krib have struck a relationship and they share the same cave and swim around together, is this normal?

Is there a peticular way in which to introduce Cichlids to a tank with territorial fish present?
Is there any room for additional fish in the tank, if so, what could you suggest?

Current Status:-

Juwel Rekord 120
1 x Blue Acara (4")
2 x Blue Rams (1 1/2"each)
1 x Gold Ram (1 1/2")
1 x Kribensis (3")
1 x Clown Plec (2")
1 x Bristlenose (2")

try rearranging all the tank decor, and adding some new decor, this will make the current inhabitants think they are in new territory, and so sould put every one on a level pegging

turn the tank lights off, rearrange all the ornaments etc, acclimitise the fish, release them and leave the tank lights off.

the fish will have established territories, moving things means you take all the territories away and they start again on a level playing field :good:
