Hello there! My name is Becca and I am a newbie in the world of fishkeeping. 
I am so excited to learn and make friends, and I'm hoping that I will!
I have a 10 gallon tank with a single black moor named Finbar, who recently got fin rot. He had ripped most of his dorsal fin off after getting it caught on a plastic plant I had in the tank. I hadn't noticed until what seemed a while after he had caught it on the decoration and was stuck on it, and the day after he ripped his fin it already seemed like he had got fin rot. I took out all the decorations and I'm going to be putting in some melafix soon. Hopefully that will cure him! I've taken such good care of him and I would be devastated if he passed
Does anyone have any suggestions for other ways to treat him? I've heard as well as putting in the melafix I should put in aquarium salt, is this an okay thing to do?
