Hi, I just found my male cichlid dead, I'm not too sure about what exactly happened, I know when I had the female in the same tank as him at first they were getting along and what not, they even had some babies.
I did a 15% water change after 2 weeks of them being in the tank and all of a sudden hell broke loose. The male became VERY aggressive towards the female and he pushed her to the top corner of the fish tank so I moved the female to my community Tank and she has been fine and so have my other fish in the tank with her.
But with this sudden loss I still would like to breed convicts and I want to use the same female but I don't know if there would be trouble or anything introducing her to a new male, If so does anyone know of any specific ways to introduce her to a new male so I can keep breeding them?
For those who are curious my Cichlid tank is a 35 gallon, Before adding the cichlids to the water when I first got them I had a water test done at my LFS and they said my water was fine to add them.
