Every morning when i wake up i turn the light to my bettas tank on then go eat breakfast to give him some time to wake up and adjust to the light. when i come back he is normally going crazy as soon as he see's me because he knows its feeding time. heres the odd thing, every once in a while when i approach the tank he is just swimming around, he doesn't even acknowledge me being in front of the tank, then when i drop food in he will swim right past it. If he almost hits it then he will eat it otherwise it is like he doesn't know it is there. the very next day he will be back to normal.

Another odd thing is occasionally when i walk in the room he will get scared and shoot away and hide. then he will make his way into his coconut and won't hardly come out while i am close to the tank.

is this normal? I can't remember any of my other bettas acting this way in the past

Probably your tank light is refracting off the glass, creating a vivid reflection from the fish's point of view. Mine does this when the room lights are off but the tank lights are on. Your fish swims into the glass, thinking the reflection is just more open water.

thats the thing, he will turn before the edge of the glass, its wierd, maybe next time i'll turn off the hood light and see if he seems to see better
