Interesting Observation

Since I've gone to a planted tank and have the large piece of driftwood in, my platies and angels regularly peck at the driftwood and the plants. The aren't eating the plants but it seems almost like they are cleaning them. Is it common for platies and angels to perhaps consume algae because that's all I can think that they are after...

platies and mollys will peck at algae if nothing else is offered. with angels im not sure if they eat algae but when they peck at things its sometimes a sign of cleaning an area ready to spawn. how big/old are the angels?

yes my angels did that for a week then spawned 2 days ago most fish will pick at certain algea my angels have eaten a large bacopa carolina but no other plants

I haven't had the angels for more than a month or so. Their bodies range in size from a quarter to half dollar. They are mostly picking at the huge piece of driftwood. Otos work the same areas too.
