Interesting Article Regarding Fish Food

Granted, the article is written by the owner of New Life Spectrum foods (Pablo Tepoot), but he seems honest and it does open your eyes to some things which a lot of us will have overlooked.

I must say, I have been feeding NLS to my mbuna for the past few weeks and have noticed good results so far. The colour and activity of them has improved by a decent margin and my nitrates don't rise as fast either. I could skip a water change in comparision and still not have nitrates as high as they were.

The reason why I was looking was because it's something I would like to learn more about. I learn as much as I can regarding other areas of fish keeping, but with food, I have just gone with the flow in all honesty. Spirulina, varied diets etc etc

Yeah its a premium fish food like they say, but I just won't spend that much on dry food. I have tried NLS and was not satisfied with its performance with my fish. Letter A: Palatability is were it just didn't hold up for me. I still have the food but switched off it pretty quickly. It was like $10 for a 5oz container. My current food costs around $3 for 8oz.

And IMO no dry food can replace live, fresh or frozen foods. Would you like a energy bar instead of some fresh salad or cooked meat?
