Terra cotta pots work, right? Is my base big enough for 4 apistos AND cories? Do you have experience with this match up?

Thanks so much for the help! :thanks:

Yeah they will work or you could use coconut caves or slate caves all work fine. sounds fine to me i kept 3 apistogramma, 6 pygmy corys and 6 panda corys in a tank with a footprint of 28x12" no problems at all.

That is great to hear!!! Thanks a TON! My base is 30" x 18", so they will have a little more space to share than yours had.

I'm heading out to the store in a little while to find some more decorations (caves will be something I keep an eye out for).

Yeah your tank should be perfect for them.
IS the picture in your sig of the tank? i would like you say get a few more caves maybe a few big twisted bits of wood to add some cover and maybe a few blands like java ferns because apisto do like having some plants around.

That's the tank... I am planning to plant it lightly in the foreground and a little more densely in the background (when the cycle is finished). I am also planning on adding some caves later today. How big should the caves be? Driftwoood is something I am looking into. I haven't found anything good yet. I also don't want it to become too busy. though...

Yeah that sounds good. I would give them a range of sizes so they can have ther pick of caves. Might be worth looking on ebay or similar for some redmoor wood a big piece of that would work perfectly. Yeah there doesnt need to be to much in the tank aslong as theres a few caves and some bits to break up the line of sight so there shouldnt be any agression.

How does it look now? I added a couple slate caves to the back, and bought some mopani, but it is currently soaking.

They aren't too close together, are they?

Looks good, i dont think it will matter to much them being that close together aslong as you put a few plants or something inbetween so they cant see each other.

Ok... I'll make some adjustments, nothing major, just some minor changes... :hey:

If it helps at all this is one of the setups i bred apisto in, not the best looking of tanks but it was great for giving them cover and breaking up there line of sight
