Why would you want to? And yes i believe it is possible.

Its possible to cross breed most new world cichlids, but I wouldn't. Just starts making it harder to distinguish pure bred fish if the fry get into the market. Similar to guppy/endlers, midas/red devil, convict/Honduran red point.

I was just considering it, I seen a video of one on youtube an it got my curiosity up! I've just had my 1st batch of convict fry and thought it was great.

yes they can and no you shouldnt - it will just be a headache all round and does not achieve much - you would be better off getting high quality firemouths and breeding them or similar species
