I cannot recall where I discussed the imploding of my filtering system in the ponds, but to counter that action, I have installed the following system....
Cut off bottom to a 5 litre water bottle
Basket section of old Fluval filter and wire mesh enforcement
This gets inserted into the "cutoff" bottle
Old curtain material
Cut off a piece and cover the inlet. Tie down with elastic bands
Place at filter inlet & clean once a week... It works!!!
