Injured....

I come home today from the not so LFS ( they didn't have my corys in.... ) to find that Shatner has some missing scales on the top of his head... Like he's been cut or something. What should I do? I've got some melafix...Should I put him on that for a week?


I tried getting pictures but the little bugger wouldn't hold still long enough to get a decent one...








I was able to get him to hold still for a bit when I fed him ( trust the goober to only sit still when he's getting fed )

i have this with my girl shes knocked it oh her perfectly smooth plant pot!
she has an obsession with trying to get under it!

Is the area sore looking, red or inflamed?
Melafix helps heal wounds and things like fins that have suffered finrot....it doesn't treat diseases or problems though.
Is there anything in your tank he could have injured himself on?
For now I'd say yes add the melafix, as melafix can be used alongside a lot of antibiotics, and it won't hurt to start adding it now.

I've got a rock and a piece of driftwood he could have knocked his head on. He goes rushing behind the wood when he's playing with the shrimp, coulda' been that.


Though....how should I go about treating him.....Will my shrimp/plants/snail be affected by the melafix?

Oh bless him..... I nearly said aqua salt but not a good idea with an open wound, unless you just use a tiny amount....keep us updated.
