Hey all,

I hate to come here with bad news but one of my Rams isn't looking so good, I don't quite know whats happened as they both appeared fine this morning perhaps its been attacked ?

I don't have a separate holding tank or anything like that so can't isolate the fish, just wondering if there was anything I can do as its movement appears laboured and just generally not acting like itself, plus this damaged area on its side.

Any help appreciated as I'm really found of these guys!

oooh that looks sore. It looks like he's gashed himself on something. It might be a good idea to go over your tank ornaments and check there's nothing sharp in there. The other option would be he's had an altercation with another fish but it looks more like an injury from something sharp

You could try some melafix. Pet@home usually have it in stock and if you have a store nearby it's possible they'll be open till 8pm (I know my local store is) If you can get something in tonight the better his chances of recovery. Hope you can get him well, he's looking uncomfortable

What other fish do you have in the tank?
How big is the tank?
