I was moving my 3 month old platy fry from the fry tank to a bucket so I could drip acclimate them into my livebearer tank. One got stuck between the net and the tank wall and I didn't realize. I went to pull the net up and hurt him. I put all of the fry in the bucket and he is in a breeder net in the fry tank. His siblings are all in the livebearer tank. He is trying to swim and kind of looks like Nemo. One of his fins doesn't work to well. I'm going to see if he does ok in the next few days. If he is having a lot of difficulty swimming in a few days, what do I do? I've never euthanized a fish and would rather not have to. What should I do?

He may or may not recover. It's too early to tell. If you don't want to kill him, then don't. See if he can eat and everything first. In fact, you could just keep him, maybe baby him a little bit, and call him Nemo!

Keep an eye on him Nikki. You might be pleasantly surprised at just how resilient fry are.

I just feed them and checked on him. He seems perfectly fine. Yesterday he was just sitting on the bottom half dead. He's a tough little guy!
