I have a denisons barb (puntius denisonii) or reline torpedo barb, that had the “crap” beat out of it by another larger densions barb. I separated the fish and the injured fish has been in my 21g for 2 months now.
At first the injured fish was in bad shape, he had red ulcerations all over his body and one of his gills did not move at all and he didn’t eat. The gill that did move was “flared” out.
Now both gills do work but the one that was flared out is still flared out (it looks a bit ruffled around the edges). Now he eats and behaves more normal BUT; he bounces himself off the substrate, shakes his head back and forth and twitches ALLOT. His dorsal fin twitches very fast at times and he looks like he is going to jump out of the tank but never has…
Water chemistry is all good.
Any idea what I can do and what is wrong?
