Very nice! Although I would of thought bettas would need a heated environment, especially with the brittish weather!

Hey! Those are pretty neat!

I was looking for some traditional Bowls, But they are Mega Expensive here - £9.00 Each for 0.5Ltr.

So got some small Cube Storage Pots. These Only Cost £2.50 Each and came with Really Funky Steel Lids.

They Don't Need a Heater. I use a Strong Halogen Desk Lamp, It keeps the Water nice and Tepid. My other Bettas are heated with the same method and they are all nice and active and no complaints from them.

hey - i've wanted to do something like that for ages, but was worried about the heat over here in blighty! they look cool...

mmm... can sense some new betta bowls coming :D

It is always good to experiment.

I chose Square pots so that I can Put up a Shelf Above the PC and That way I can Have Lots of Pots. Just gotta convince the Olds to let Me Do it.

Sorry lads but i think thats cruel, those jars are tiny, i wouldn't put fry in them.
Do you leave the lamps on all night? otherwise the water would get cold especially in the winter

Hey thats pretty cool but do the Bettas REALLY not mind an environment as small as that? I mean do they not even need any gravel? I Would'nt mind getting a couple of 2 gallon tanks for bettas....

Ben

They don't look that small to me :dunno:

Just think of it this way... it's better then the cup they were in or the mason jars they've known their whole lives.

Some prefer no gravel because it keeps the tails nicer and it's easier to clean.

Hmm, But the Bettas at my LFS are in 1Gallon tanks each before they are bought. I wouldn't want to house them in anything less than that for sure.

Guess I'm not in to the whole bare look either :dunno:

Ben

me either. I think smooth rocks or gravel look nicer. I'm searching for some live plants right now.

PSgill do you know what kind of floating plant that is?

I dont think their too small. Love Mr. pink.

and his name if your referring to Reservoir Dogs...... :hey:

Sweet setup ps! I have lots of giant jars like that, but they're all at least a gallon size. A little tip,go look in the craft section every now and then at walmart, they are doing inventory until the middle of june and they are clearing out alot of those glass marbles. I got a whole bag full of different kinds for 50 cents a bag, normally $1.50 a bag, they look great and they are super easy to clean. That's what I use. I hate gravel in those smaller jars, the bettas always snag their tails. Plus I like the cool look of glass rocks/marbles. :)
